New Delhi: The Defence Minister, Rajnath Singh, announced on Saturday that India's defence production has achieved a remarkable milestone, reaching Rs 1,50,590 crore for the fiscal year 2024-25.
This figure represents an impressive growth of approximately 18% compared to the previous year's total of Rs 1.27 lakh crore.
Singh attributed this achievement to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating, "The annual defence production has soared to an all-time high figure of Rs 1,50,590 crore in the financial year 2024-25."
He further highlighted that this growth signifies a staggering 90% increase since 2019-20, when the production was recorded at Rs 79,071 crore.
The Defence Minister praised the collaborative efforts of the Department of Defence Production, defence public sector units, and private industry stakeholders for reaching this significant milestone.
He emphasized that this upward trend is a clear reflection of India's strengthening defence industrial base.
